This recipe was created especially for intermittent fasting days. I also wanted to create something for those who don’t have a juicer. However, think of this more like a smoothie consistancy rather than the pulp free liquid a juicer can create. When you don’t have a juicer making a detox veg smoothie in a blender is the next best thing.
Actually believe it or not, there are many people who prefer this slightly thicker way of drinking fresh veg. For some, the juice with the pulp together, provides that extra fiber and bulk, helping to create a fuller feeling. For newbies this intermittent fasting smoothie can give you the extra edge that can make a fasting day much easier and doable. This is a PURE meal in a glass!
For those with blood sugar issues, I would suggest adding 1-2 tsp. of chia seeds in with the blending. This will add in Omega 3 fat and thicken it up even more. The outcome will be better blood sugar stabilization and feeling more satiated.
Additionally I like to squeez half a lemon into the smoothie once it is in my glass and do a slight stir with a spoon. The fresh lemon does something amazing, almost magical to make this smoothie more palatable and psychologically doable. At least for me anyway. Would love to hear your experience.
